Peace's Mission Society is our branch of the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS), a national organization devoted to supporting the spread of the Gospel in WELS missions around the world. In addiiton, Peace's Mission Society supports a wide range of congregational activities.
The Women's Missionary Society supports the mission work of the congregation and synod, gathers offerings in April and September in support of Mission projects, organizes the Easter breakfast, volunteers for work at Bethesda Thrift Store and at the Bargain Center-North in Milwaukee, collects and distributes Christmas gifts for shut-ins, and organizes and assists at funeral lunches.
One of the major goals of the Mission Society is to provide some financial support for many para-synodical institutions within the United States and around the world. Their activities include raising monies to provide tuition asssistance for PAL (Partner's in Apache Learning) at East Fork Lutheran Grade School, in East Fork, AZ.
The Mission Society meets at 7:00 pm on the second Tuesday of every month in the Fellowship Hall. Their December meeting starts at 6:30 pm with a potluck dinner for which the church and school staff are invited. They will have a guest speaker at that meeting. Funds for Friends:
Thanks to all who submitted Sentry receipts for Funds for Friends. With your help, the Mission Society was able to send $700 to assist with tuition costs at East Fork Lutheran Grade School in Whiteriver, AZ. If you regularly shop at Sentry Foods, you can request a Funds for Friends sticker on your grocery receipt. Receipts are valid for three months and may be deposited in the church library.
