All seniors age 55 and older are welcome to join the OWLS at their meetings on the fourth Monday of each month at 10:00 am, unless otherwise notified. OWLS provides a wonderful opportunity for great Christian fellowship.
The official name for the organization is DWOWLS as other WELS affilated church members ages 55 and older from both Washington and Dodge Counties are also part of the membership and invited to participate in all events.
Meetings may include a speaker, day trips, or other planned activities, combined with a devotion and a lunch. Some of these activities have included a trip to the Green Bay Packer stadium and Hall of Fame combined with a boat trip off the shores of Green Bay, a trip to Drury Theater in Chicago, an annual Christmas party, a visit
from "Martin Luther and his wife Katie," and other educational presentations related to financial planning and identity theft. Recently the OWLS have also had a presentation by Missionary Josh Martin and his wife Katie, about their life in Germany as the European Civilian Chaplain, and a former Dodge County Sheriff discussed his son's tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. This year's schedule is as follows:
February 23rd Meeting:
This will be a work meeting as we prepare Christmas cards to be given to prisoners next Christmas. We will also prepare the next European Civilian Chaplaincy Offering mailing. We can use all the help we can get. Join us! No Potluck lunch this month.
